Editorial policy
Every page on PassTheFCE is written by a qualified English teacher and reviewed by a second teacher. Exam facts are checked against official Cambridge documents and reviewed at least every 12 months. Every guide is reviewed at least every 6 months.
Last updated:
1. Who writes our content
Guides, practice tasks and model answers are written by teachers with a recognised English-teaching qualification (such as CELTA or DELTA) and experience preparing students for B2 First. Each page shows its author and, where applicable, its reviewer.
2. How we check exam facts
All facts about the exam (format, timings, number of questions, marking and grades) are stored in a single list. Each fact records the official source document and the date we last checked it. When Cambridge updates the exam, we update the fact once and every page that uses it changes automatically.
If we cannot confirm a fact in an official source, we do not publish it.
3. Original material only
We do not reproduce Cambridge past papers, official sample tests, or material from other websites or books. All practice texts, questions, audio scripts and model answers are original. When official material is useful, we link to it on the Cambridge website instead.
4. Model answers and marking comments
Our model answers show how a response might be marked using the four public B2 First writing criteria. Our comments are written in an examiner's style but are not official marks. Real exam marking is carried out only by Cambridge examiners.
5. Review and updates
Every guide has a review date. Pages are reviewed at least every six months, and the "Last updated" date at the top of each page shows when it last changed in a meaningful way. Small typo fixes do not change that date.
6. Use of AI tools
We may use software tools to help with spelling checks, formatting or translation drafts. Every page is written, checked and approved by a human teacher before publication. Our tools never claim to give official exam grades.
7. Affiliate links and advertising
Some pages contain affiliate links to books. If you buy through them, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships never decide what we recommend. We include honest pros and cons, and we recommend books only when we would use them in class. Advertising, where shown, is clearly separated from our content.
8. Corrections
Found a mistake? Email hello@passthefce.com with the page address. We aim to check every report within five working days and correct confirmed errors immediately.
